POSITION: NWOESC-Substitute Speech Language Pathologist-Part or Full Time (5 days per week is needed; This position could be shared among more than one SLP). This assignment is with school-aged students in the Liberty Center District, Archbold, North Central Preschools, and NWOESC Hi classrooms at Archbold Middle and High School.
Job Objective: Provide speech and language services to help middle and high school students benefit from the educational program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds/maintains valid Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services licenses as a school speech-language pathologist.
- or ability to obtain temporary school Speech-Language Pathologist license (see http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Teaching/Licensure/Apply-for-Certificate-License/Pupil-Services-Licenses)Acts in accordance with the ASHA/Ohio Board Code of Ethics, Scope of Practices for Speech Language Pathologist in Schools and Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
Essential Functions
1. Designs and provides educationally relevant speech-language therapy services. Uses evidence based practice to guide therapeutic interventions.
- Collaboratively identifies and resolves problems that impede student learning. Implements evidence-based interventions that produce tangible benefits within defined time-frames.
- Writes/implements and documents Individualized Education Plans (IEP) goals and objectives according to need and baseline data. Explains IEP goals to parents and staff. Help stakeholders understand how therapy activities relate to the educational program.
- Uses a variety of evidence-based treatment techniques to address speech/language disorders (e.g., expressive/receptive language, voice, articulation, fluency, interactive communication, auditory and/or visual processing, pragmatics, etc.).
- Helps staff incorporate therapy goals into classroom activities.
- Teaches skills that help students manage the learning environment (e.g., assistive technology, augmentative devices, use of instructional/media resources, access/proximity to activities, etc.).
- Prepares documentation and recommendations that comply with state/federal requirements.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of all required Medicaid reports.
CONTRACT: approximately April 4, 2025 to May 23, 2025, May 12, 2025 to June 2, 2025 and August 18, 2025 through October 31, 2025

SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience
