Job Objective:
The Behavior Consultant Specialist (BCS) will provide behavior services to support administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and educator teams in the provision of behavioral supports and services designed to assist students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other developmental delays in the least restrictive environment. The BCS will have specialized training and experience in behavior analysis and/or will hold or be in the process of obtaining BCBA (board-certified behavior analyst) credentials. The BCS conducts observations and assessments. He/she then leads a team to develop a functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention plan, and/or interventions and strategies to support student development and provides ongoing support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds required state Department of Education credentials. A minimum ODE Educational Aide Permit and BCBA Certification are required (in process or held). Teaching licensure preferred. Experience with special education is required.
- Ability to apply behavior analytic services in an educational setting.
- Acts in accordance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
- Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline, and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
- Documents/maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Essential Functions:
1. Collaborates with educators in the development, implementation, and assessment of behavior plans and Applied Behavior Analysis instructional programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other developmental delays that present behavior or learning challenges
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments to inform the development of individualized Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Provide training for education teams on the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Develop materials, provide resources, and provide training to administrators, educators, and paraprofessionals in Applied Behavior Analysis related to addressing students' needs.
- Teach, coach, and support staff working with students
- Collaborate with educational teams to review data and programming for each student.
- Tailor services to meet the needs of the situation, including but not limited to student and classroom observations; interviews with the educational team and families; review of existing behavior data, functional behavior assessment, and behavior intervention planning; facilitation of a new or revised FBA/BIP; attendance at an IEP team meeting; collaboration with educational teams; coaching and follow up consultation.

LOCATIONS: NwOESC classrooms located at Edgerton Local Schools (Williams County) and the Independence Education Center (Defiance County).The Independence Education Center is located at 06950 Independence Road, Defiance, Ohio.

SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience
