Description

Position:  Intervention Specialist for K-12 students.  We are seeking candidates interested in elementary, middle, or high school classroom assignments.  This posting is for a teacher who would be assigned to one location.  

 

Qualifications (partial list):

Must hold proper Ohio Department of Education Intervention Specialist licensure, or be eligible to obtain a supplemental license. https://sboe.ohio.gov/educator-licensure

  • Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Embodies high ethical standards/integrity.  Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct.

 

Essential Functions (partial list):

1.  Maintains a thorough understanding of subject matter and pedagogy.  Organizes subject content and learning goals that support high levels of student achievement.

  • Works closely with other service providers to support unified classroom lessons.
  • Prepares intervention materials.  Teaches assigned students as scheduled.
  • Develops and implements lesson plans aligned with intervention goals.
  • Evaluates student academic needs and learning styles.
  • Differentiates instructional techniques to effectively advance student learning.
  • Uses formal and informal assessment strategies to monitor student progress.
  • Uses a data-driven approach to analyze assessments.  Provides effective feedback to students.
  • Facilitates Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.  Prepares draft and final IEPs.
  • Prepares and transmits legally compliant special education documents by required deadlines.
  • Advocates for students.  Facilitates inclusive educational opportunities for all students.
  • Evaluates student achievement/performance.  Prepares progress reports and/or report cards.
  • Ensures student lists and teaching materials are readily available for substitutes.
  • Uses positive behavioral support techniques to address disruptive student behavior.

 

2.  Exemplifies professionalism to enhance NwOESC and member district public images.

 

3.  Maintains open/effective communications.  Serves as a reliable information resource.

 

4. Pursues opportunities to enhance personal performance.

 

CONTRACT:  Positions available for the 2025-26 school calendar and beyond. *Opportunities for the current 2024-25 school year are also available, so if interested, please apply! 

LOCATION(S):  Public schools in Defiance, Henry, Fulton, or Williams counties. Classroom locations TBD.  

DEADLINE: Until Filled 

SALARY:  Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience

BENEFITS:  Paid sick leave and personal leave.  Health, dental, vision, and life insurance are available.  Membership in the State Teachers Retirement System.
